In the era of coronavirus, when we're forced into isolation and social distancing, we find ourselves with fewer distractions.
Let's use this time to commit to spring cleaning of the heart and the home.
With the slowdown in society, now is a good time to create clarity. Clarity comes from knowing your heart's desires.
The most repeated American saying is "I'm so busy!" But are you, or are you merely distracted by the clutter and obstacles that cloud the path to discovering your heart's desires?
Clarity gives you the chance not only to focus on the intangibles but also to decide what you DON'T need to do.
For instance, when your desk is messy, you often feel overwhelmed and think, man, I have a lot on my plate. But when you clean your desk and file it all away, you gain a sense of calm and learn what are the true items of unfinished business that need your attention.
Same thing when you clean out your closet. Many items that you were hanging onto in case you MIGHT need them suddenly seem like they are taking up space. You find you rarely miss them when you no longer have them.
In most cases, when you clear out the stacked-up pile, you find many of the items in it are no longer important. This is also true of your heart. When you live from the heart, you can wipe away the distractions, clutter, and obstacles and focus on a place of peace. That contentment helps you reprioritize your decisions and actions.
Take the time to visualize what your family looks like, how you conduct your business, what are your personal goals. When you conceptualize them (and write them out), the outline you create demonstrates whether you are content or whether you need to work on items that make you happy.
We all have desires of the heart. You can recognize them because they create positive energy in your mind. If there is something you would like to accomplish or something you wish to do for someone, or perhaps a place you wish to visit before you die, then it's time to clean out the clutter and create the clarity to achieve them.
So ask yourself:
— Are you giving it your all? If not, what’s preventing you from doing so?
— Is there a job, an idea, or a calling that you think about constantly and when you do you feel your energy level rise? If so, what are you doing to pursue it?
— What energy are you putting out there? When you do right by others in pursuit of your heart's desire to good things will come your way?
I won't be surprised if you learn that your heart's desire is driven by the satisfaction of serving others.
